Split system and air conditioning installation for Mentone units and townhouses

In Mentone's townhouses, units and apartments, a ducted run through a roof space is often not available, so a single split or a multi-split is the realistic system, and the condenser goes on a wall or a balcony rather than in a backyard.

We install Mitsubishi Electric, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Rinnai, Carrier, Daikin, Fujitsu and Haier. Safety switch and switchboard upgrades in Mentone

Safety switches have only been compulsory on power circuits in new wiring since the early 1990s, and on lighting since 2001, so a Mentone home that has never been upgraded may have none (the dates in full).

Midday Power Saver for Mentone apartments: no roof needed

The Midday Power Saver bills electricity used between 11am and 2pm at $0.00 per kWh, up to 24 kWh a day, and it needs a smart meter, not a roof. It is opt-in: compare it with your current plan first, because rates outside the window can be higher.

For the 1,028 flats and apartments in Mentone, that is the first energy offer in years that does not assume you own the roof above you. In a building with an embedded network, the Victorian Government says you may be eligible if you have a smart meter and are billed by a licensed electricity retailer.

Replacing gas hot water in Mentone after 1 March 2027

From 1 March 2027, a reticulated gas water heater in an existing Class 1 or Class 2 home cannot be installed or replaced, under plumbing regulations 45D and 45E.
